I had a 97 volvo 850R which was great. I could rip through many cars that were and are suppose to be sports cars.The one I had was a limited edition one and had 50 more horses than the normal 850R’s. I could take a legacy but the wrx was a bit harder. The wrx turbo lag sucks, Slows it down a bit on take off. My volvo had NO turbo lag from what I could tell. I had previously had a 86 240 DL sedan. Its way slower and is not a sports car. Was way better in the snow and more economical than the 850R

A ridiculous comparison…. the T5 is not marketed as a ’sports’ tourer, whereas the 3.0RB is……… they should have compared it to something more in its demographic…. R36 wagon or stagea?

i recently moved from europe to australia and on the market down here there is no better choice than subaru. simply bulletproof. european cars are overpriced and engines can’t handle low-octane fuel(91?). every mechanic advised me that buying saab or volvo is a waste of money.

The Subaru Leagcy 3.0l R spec B tourer should be compared to the Volkswagen Passat R36 estate.
I (well my dad but based on what I have told him to get) has owned both of them, we currently have the R36 and its definitely the best car for the money as its brilliant at everything, and using the launch control (yes that’s right, launch control on a passat) it can do 0-62mph in a ballistic 4.7 seconds.

The Subie in this isn’t the turbo 4, it has a NA 6-cylinder. She said it was a 3 liter. You can also tell by its lack of a hood scoop, which a turbo Subaru would have had.

that was the turbo version…the stock version only has 170 bhp…the one she had, had like 250 or something in it…she did hav the turbo…the v50 was turbo as well
