I would say the B5 chassis, which is 2000 to 2002.
It is a smaller chassis than the newer Audi’s, and lighter weight. It is also just as tunable. The A4 with the 1.8t is the one to go with, but if you can step it up to the 2000-2002 S4, than you have the most capable Audi around. I had one tuned to 600hp or so, and you wont lose a race. The AWD will launch the car leaving everything that isnt AWD in your rearview mirror.
Regardless, you an go wrong with Audi at all. If you had to step it down a bit, go with a VW, if you can step it up one day, go with the Porsche.
